CyberGhost VPN

CyberGhost VPN accepts major payment methods including Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal in most cases. Any accepted CyberGhost VPN payment method works with ShopBack cashback tracking, since cashback is triggered by the affiliate click-through, not the payment step. Buy-now-pay-later options may be excluded; verify on the ShopBack CyberGhost VPN merchant page terms.

The cleanest tracking route is to sign in to ShopBack US, click through fresh from shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn in a desktop or mobile web browser, and complete the CyberGhost subscription in the same browser session on cyberghost.com. Do not open the CyberGhost mobile app for the purchase and skip third-party voucher code sites since unsupported codes can break tracking. Cashback usually pends within 48 hours on the ShopBack CyberGhost page.

CyberGhost VPN is a consumer VPN service that encrypts your internet traffic and routes it through servers in other countries. It is operated from Romania, a jurisdiction outside the 14 Eyes intelligence-sharing framework and without mandatory data-retention laws for VPN providers. Apps run on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, consumer routers, and Chrome and Firefox browser extensions. Typical US use cases are encrypting public Wi-Fi at airports, coffee shops, and coworking spaces, keeping your ISP out of your DNS and browsing metadata, connecting to a server in another region while travelling overseas, and torrenting on servers optimised for P2P.

CyberGhost publishes a server network of 9,900+ servers across 100+ countries (verify current on cyberghostvpn.com), covering more countries than most competitors. Feature set includes WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IKEv2 protocols, a kill switch that cuts traffic if the tunnel drops, split tunneling to route selected apps outside the VPN, streaming-optimised server presets for individual services (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, BBC iPlayer, ESPN), gaming-optimised low-latency servers, and torrenting-optimised P2P servers. NoSpy servers are a subset of the network located in and owned by CyberGhost itself in Romania, adding a hardware-control layer beyond the standard third-party datacentre model.

CyberGhost states it operates under a strict no-logs policy, verified via an independent third-party audit (verify current audit provider and date on cyberghostvpn.com). The audit scope and provider have changed over time, so the practical answer depends on the latest published summary. Pair the policy with the kill switch so nothing leaks if the tunnel drops mid-session. Romania jurisdiction sits outside 14 Eyes and outside EU mandatory data retention for VPN providers, which is often cited as a privacy-favourable operating location.

CyberGhost sells four plan lengths at the same feature set: monthly, 6-month, 2-year, and 26-month. Long-term plans carry a significantly lower effective per-month rate than the rolling monthly option; the 2-year and 26-month plans usually sit at the deepest per-month price on direct-site pricing. All terms include the same VPN feature set plus a money-back guarantee, 45 days on the longer plans and 14 days on the monthly plan (verify current on cyberghostvpn.com). Optional add-ons include Dedicated IP and additional security bundles, priced separately. Confirm current terms and inclusions on cyberghostvpn.com before subscribing.

The 2-year and 26-month plans typically carry a much lower effective monthly rate than the rolling 1-month plan, and long-term plans also come with the longer 45-day money-back guarantee versus 14 days on monthly. The monthly plan is mostly useful for a short trip or a quick service trial. For confident long-term users, a 26-month plan bought via shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn during a promo window is the cleanest total-cost option. Rates vary, so check the current options on cyberghostvpn.com.

A Dedicated IP is an optional paid add-on that gives you a static address from a chosen country instead of a shared one. It can reduce CAPTCHAs on frequently visited sites, help with remote access to a home server, and reduce friction on services that flag shared VPN IPs. Most casual US users do not need it, add it only if you have a specific use case. Add-ons are billed separately from the base VPN subscription and may have different renewal terms.

Yes, encrypting your traffic with a VPN is a sensible habit on shared networks at US airports, coffee shops, hotels, and coworking spaces. Without a VPN, other users on the same Wi-Fi can sometimes observe unencrypted traffic or run basic snooping attacks. CyberGhost's kill switch adds a safety net so your real IP does not leak if the connection drops mid-session. The mobile apps for iOS and Android connect in one tap, which matters more than protocol choice for a coffee-shop session.

A VPN encrypts your traffic so your ISP cannot inspect packet contents or build a browsing profile from your DNS lookups, which is relevant in the US where ISPs are permitted to sell anonymised browsing data to advertisers. It does not change your underlying line speed, so peak-evening congestion on cable, fibre, or 5G home internet can still affect performance regardless of provider. The effect on streaming or gaming speed varies with server distance and load.

CyberGhost publishes named server presets for individual streaming services (for example, Netflix US, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, BBC iPlayer, ESPN), grouped by streaming platform in the app. Whether any specific streaming service works on a given day depends on that service's own detection and terms, and CyberGhost does not guarantee compatibility with any individual platform. The 45-day money-back guarantee on longer plans gives room to test the streaming presets against actual services before committing. Server list and named presets change over time, verify current coverage on cyberghostvpn.com.

CyberGhost operates a dedicated pool of P2P-optimised servers across selected countries, and the app surfaces them under a torrenting-focused tab. The kill switch prevents your real IP from leaking if the tunnel drops mid-transfer, and the no-logs policy (verified via independent audit, verify current) reduces the provider-side data footprint. Users remain responsible for adhering to copyright law and the terms of the platforms they access. Torrenting non-copyrighted files (Linux ISOs, open-source releases, public-domain works) is generally uncontroversial, torrenting copyrighted content is not.

CyberGhost publishes a gaming-optimised subset of its server network with lower-latency routes for specific game titles or platforms. Real-world lag depends on physical distance between the CyberGhost server and the game server, so a closer server usually beats a farther one regardless of optimisation label. For accessing region-locked game content or early launches on Steam or console stores, connecting to a server in the target country can sometimes work, subject to platform terms. Whether any specific title or store works is not guaranteed.

Download the official CyberGhost app from cyberghostvpn.com, the App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store, sign in with your account, and hit the connect button. Most installs take under five minutes. WireGuard is the default protocol for speed and battery efficiency on both mobile and laptop, OpenVPN and IKEv2 are available as fallbacks. Turn on the kill switch in settings once you are connected for the first time. Linux users get a dedicated CLI client, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV users get native TV apps.

One CyberGhost VPN subscription generally covers up to 7 simultaneous device connections per account, subject to current plan terms on cyberghostvpn.com. That is enough for one household member across a phone, laptop, tablet, and smart TV, or two-person households sharing across the same slots. Router-level setup secures every device on the home network and counts as a single connection, useful if your device count exceeds 7. Households with many devices may prefer Surfshark's unlimited-connections model instead, all else being similar.

Router-level setup secures every device on your home network and counts as one of the 7 simultaneous connections. For Apple TV, Fire TV, and Android TV, CyberGhost publishes native apps. For Roku and older smart TVs without native VPN app support, route the smart TV via the router or via a Fire TV stick running the CyberGhost app. CyberGhost publishes router-configuration guides for common firmware (DD-WRT, Tomato, ASUS Merlin, GL.iNet) on cyberghostvpn.com.

The kill switch blocks all internet traffic the moment the VPN tunnel drops, so your real IP and unencrypted traffic do not leak to the ISP. The no-logs policy, verified via independent audit (verify current), means connection activity is generally not retained on the provider side. NoSpy servers are a subset of the network located in Romania and owned by CyberGhost directly rather than leased from third-party datacentres, adding a hardware-control layer for users who want to reduce reliance on external infrastructure providers. Enable the kill switch in the app's settings for everyday use, opt into NoSpy servers when a specific session warrants the extra layer.

CyberGhost VPN is a consumer VPN operated from Romania (a jurisdiction outside the 14 Eyes intelligence-sharing framework and outside EU mandatory data retention for VPN providers), owned by Kape Technologies. CyberGhost states a strict no-logs policy verified via independent third-party audit (verify current audit provider and date on cyberghostvpn.com), and ships apps across every major platform. Consumer VPN use for personal privacy on public Wi-Fi and while travelling is permitted in the US. Users remain responsible for adhering to the terms of any services accessed through the VPN. The 45-day money-back guarantee on longer plans purchased direct at cyberghostvpn.com makes it low commitment to trial.

CyberGhost offers a 45-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers on longer plans (6-month, 2-year, 26-month) purchased directly from cyberghostvpn.com. The monthly plan comes with a shorter 14-day guarantee. Verify current terms on cyberghostvpn.com before purchase. To request a refund, contact CyberGhost customer support within the guarantee window. Subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play follow those stores' own refund rules instead. Buying direct from cyberghostvpn.com in a web browser gives the cleanest refund path. Activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through so any post-guarantee paid retention is covered by cashback on eligible new-subscriber orders.

The 45-day money-back guarantee (14-day on monthly) applies to plans purchased directly on cyberghostvpn.com. Subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play follow those stores' own refund rules and cannot generally be refunded by CyberGhost customer support. Buying direct at cyberghostvpn.com in a web browser gives the cleanest refund path within the guarantee window. Also note that ShopBack US cashback is not tracked on merchant-app purchases per ShopBack terms, so subscribing via a web browser at cyberghostvpn.com after activating ShopBack US is the correct route for both refund clarity and cashback eligibility.

ShopBack is a cashback portal, works like Rakuten. Sign in to ShopBack US, click through to CyberGhost VPN from shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn, and complete the subscription in the same web browser session on cyberghostvpn.com. Do not switch to outside voucher codes, external referral links, or the CyberGhost mobile app for the purchase (app purchases are excluded). Cashback tracks against your ShopBack account, subject to the current published rate on shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn and current terms. Payment methods accepted at CyberGhost checkout include card, PayPal, cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum), and Amazon Pay.

No single VPN is cheapest for every US user, effective price depends on plan term and stack. On the free tier, ProtonVPN Free is the only widely used no-cost option among audited providers, with limited features. Among paid providers on the longest available plan term, CyberGhost's 26-month plan and NordVPN Basic 2-year plan typically sit at the low end, while ExpressVPN sits at the premium end. A reliable US saving ladder: (1) commit to the longest available plan term (26-month for CyberGhost) for the deepest per-month rate, (2) time the click-through to a sale window (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or CyberGhost's own anniversary and back-to-school windows), (3) activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through. The 26-month plan plus a sale window plus ShopBack US cashback generally produces the lowest net first-term cost on CyberGhost. Current cashback rate on shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn.

CyberGhost's direct-site US pricing on 6-month, 2-year, and 26-month plans already carries a marketing discount off the RRP monthly rate. Additional promo activity surfaces mainly during Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and CyberGhost's own anniversary sale windows, and there is generally no separate voucher code required at checkout. Third-party voucher code sites often list expired or affiliate-referral codes that can break ShopBack cashback tracking if applied at checkout, so sticking to the discount already shown on the CyberGhost checkout plus ShopBack US cashback is the reliable stack. Activate through shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before clicking through, no promo code needed.

The 26-month plan carries the lowest effective per-month rate on CyberGhost's own pricing and typically captures the deepest Black Friday markdowns. Because the whole 26-month term is a single upfront transaction, the full discounted total is what ShopBack US cashback is calculated against on eligible new-subscriber orders. The monthly plan is priced several times higher per month on the RRP, useful for a short trip or a service trial, but subsequent monthly renewals are excluded from ShopBack cashback per current terms. The monthly plan also comes with the shorter 14-day money-back guarantee versus 45 days on the 6-month, 2-year, and 26-month plans. For confident long-term users, a 26-month plan bought fresh via shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn wins on total 26-month cost.

The last week of November is historically CyberGhost's deepest annual discount window in the US, with the 26-month plan typically seeing the largest markdown and bonus subscription months added on top. Specific 2026 sale terms are not published yet, so treat any pre-window claim as indicative until confirmed on cyberghostvpn.com. Activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before clicking through so the Black Friday or Cyber Monday price also earns cashback on eligible new-subscriber orders, current published rate on shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn.

For US users primarily using a VPN for overseas streaming while travelling, CyberGhost on a 26-month plan sits at a competitive per-month rate among audited providers, and it publishes named server presets for individual streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, BBC iPlayer, ESPN) which can simplify server selection. Whether any specific streaming service works on a given day depends on that service's own detection and terms, no VPN provider guarantees streaming compatibility. If streaming is the only use case, the 45-day money-back guarantee on the 6-month plan or longer lets a new subscriber trial CyberGhost direct at cyberghostvpn.com against actual travel destinations before committing. Activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through so the trial subscription, if kept past 45 days, earns cashback on the new-subscriber order.

CyberGhost generally leads on server footprint (9,900+ servers across 100+ countries as of early 2026), streaming-optimised server presets per platform, the 45-day money-back guarantee on longer plans (typically longer than most competitor guarantees; verify current on each provider), affordable 26-month long-term pricing, and NoSpy servers physically owned by CyberGhost in Romania. NordVPN wins on Meshnet, Threat Protection, broader security bundling, faster average WireGuard speeds via NordLynx, and a higher simultaneous connection count (verify current on nordvpn.com). ExpressVPN wins on the Lightway protocol and Aircove VPN router hardware, at typically the highest per-month rate of the group. Surfshark wins on unlimited simultaneous connections and its Antivirus, Alert, and Search bundles. ProtonVPN wins on a genuinely usable free tier, Swiss jurisdiction, and open-source clients. For a typical US household on a longer commitment, CyberGhost 26-month plus ShopBack US cashback (activate at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through, current published rate on the merchant page) is a competitive net-cost option; NordVPN wins if you want the deepest security bundling; Surfshark wins on device count; ProtonVPN wins if you specifically need a free tier or Swiss jurisdiction.

Mullvad wins on cash-anonymous accounts (no email required, pay by cash) and flat pricing regardless of term length, useful if account anonymity matters more than the deepest long-term price. Private Internet Access (PIA) is a US-based older brand with a large server footprint and open-source clients, typically at low long-term pricing similar to CyberGhost. IPVanish is US-based and streaming-oriented with unlimited simultaneous connections. PureVPN is a Panama-based mid-market alternative with a comparable feature set. Windscribe is Canada-based with a genuinely usable free tier and per-feature customisation. CyberGhost's main practical wins in this group are the 45-day money-back guarantee on longer plans, the 9,900+ server network, and named streaming presets per platform. Where SB US carries each merchant, activate cashback at the relevant ShopBack merchant page before click-through.

CyberGhost accepts card, PayPal, Amazon Pay, and cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum) at checkout on cyberghostvpn.com. Crypto payment reduces the account-to-payment-instrument link on the provider side, which some users prefer for privacy reasons. ShopBack US cashback tracking generally works across payment methods on eligible new-subscriber orders on cyberghostvpn.com via a web browser, though some third-party crypto payment processors may interrupt tracking in edge cases. Verify tracking after checkout. Users who want a fully cash-anonymous account may prefer Mullvad instead, which accepts cash by mail.

CyberGhost has historically offered short free trials on iOS and Android via App Store and Google Play, mechanics and availability vary by campaign, verify on the app stores in-app. On the direct US website, the functional equivalent is the 45-day money-back guarantee on the 6-month, 2-year, or 26-month plan, subscribe direct at cyberghostvpn.com, use the service fully for up to 45 days, and request a refund via CyberGhost customer support if not satisfied. Free-tier alternatives among audited providers include ProtonVPN Free and Windscribe's free tier, both with limited features. If you subscribe direct on cyberghostvpn.com, activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn first so the paid plan earns cashback on eligible new-subscriber orders if you decide to keep it past the guarantee window.

The deepest annual markdowns in the US are historically anchored to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday window in late November, with the 26-month plan typically seeing the largest markdown and bonus subscription months added on top. CyberGhost's own anniversary sale (varies by year) and back-to-school windows in late August are the next windows worth watching. Other US retail moments (July 4th, Amazon Prime Day) see less consistent CyberGhost participation than the November anchor. Whichever window you buy in, activate ShopBack US cashback at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through so the sale-window price also earns cashback on eligible new-subscriber orders.

The CyberGhost VPN US stack, in order: (1) time the click-through to a CyberGhost sale window (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, anniversary, or back-to-school), (2) skip third-party voucher code sites since unsupported codes can break tracking, (3) activate ShopBack US in-browser and click through fresh from shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn, (4) complete the subscription on cyberghostvpn.com via web browser (not the CyberGhost mobile app, app purchases are excluded from cashback). Cashback and the CyberGhost sale-window price may compound on eligible new-subscriber orders; renewals, subsequent subscriptions on existing accounts, Dedicated IP add-ons, and app purchases are excluded per current terms. Check tracking after checkout.

For most US households, frequent travellers, torrenters, and anyone regularly on public Wi-Fi, CyberGhost VPN is a reasonable pick thanks to its audited no-logs policy, kill switch, 9,900+ servers across 100+ countries, named streaming-optimised presets per service, dedicated P2P torrenting servers, and Romania jurisdiction. Value is strongest on the 26-month plan combined with ShopBack US cashback activated at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before click-through. The 45-day money-back guarantee on longer plans purchased direct at cyberghostvpn.com makes it low-risk to trial. Households with more than 7 devices may prefer Surfshark's unlimited connections model; users wanting the deepest security bundling (Threat Protection, Meshnet) may prefer NordVPN.

CyberGhost VPN cashback usually appears as pending in your ShopBack US account within 48 hours of the eligible new-subscriber order, provided you activated ShopBack and clicked through at shopback.com/cyberghost-vpn before checkout. Because CyberGhost VPN carries a 45-day money-back guarantee (longer than most mainstream VPNs), confirmed cashback typically lands after that window closes, so the confirmation window usually runs around 75 to 105 days from the order date depending on current CyberGhost terms. If a pending cashback does not appear within 48 hours, lodge a missing-cashback claim in the ShopBack app with your CyberGhost order confirmation. Verify current tracking and confirmation windows on the merchant page.
