Are All-Inclusive Resorts in Florida Worth It in 2026?
Florida has some all-inclusive resorts, but many Florida rates are room-only, so the deal is worth it only when the total beats room plus the food and drinks you would really buy; the same test works for Costa Rica, Hawaii and Puerto Vallarta, and you go through ShopBack before you book.
Where ShopBack fits. ShopBack US is a free app, website and browser extension. Before you book a resort or package on Booking.com, Expedia or Priceline, go through ShopBack first: sign up, tap through to Booking.com, Expedia or Priceline, then book and pay as normal on the site.
How we checked. We used NOAA's National Hurricane Center for storm seasons, Visit Costa Rica and Visit Puerto Vallarta for climate and regions, the FTC's fee rule in the Code of Federal Regulations, and the booking sites' own programme pages. We do not quote nightly prices, because resort rates change daily.
The verdict
All-inclusive is a pricing format, not a discount. It saves money when you would otherwise eat and drink most of your meals at the resort, and it costs more when you would rather explore. If your Florida resort is a short drive from restaurants, theme parks and beaches you plan to visit, the room-only rate often wins. If your resort in Guanacaste or Puerto Vallarta is set apart from town and you plan to stay put, an all-inclusive rate wins more often.
Whichever format you choose, the booking routine is the same: compare the full total on two or three sites, then go through ShopBack to the booking site before you pay, so the effective price drops.
Are there all-inclusive resorts in Florida, and are they worth it?
Yes, some Florida resorts sell all-inclusive or meal-plan rates, and they are worth it mainly for families or groups who plan to stay on property. On booking sites the label is not used consistently. A rate called "all-inclusive" at one Florida property may cover three meals and drinks, while another covers breakfast and dinner only. Read the rate details for these five things before you compare:
- Meals. Which meals, and whether there are à la carte restaurants or only a buffet.
- Drinks. Whether alcohol is included, and which brands or hours.
- Activities. Kids' clubs, watersports, fitness classes and whether any carry a charge.
- Gratuities. Whether tips are built into the rate.
- Fees. Any mandatory resort or amenity fee, which under US rules has to be in the total price shown.
A simple break-even test. Take the all-inclusive total for your stay. Then take the room-only total for the same dates and add a realistic daily food and drinks budget for everyone in your party. If the all-inclusive total is lower, it is the better deal. If it is higher, you are paying for convenience, which can still be worth it if that is what you want from the trip.
Hypothetical example: a 4-night all-inclusive stay for two at $2,400 compared with a $1,500 room-only stay plus $180 a day on food and drinks ($720), for $2,220 in total. In that case the room-only stay is $180 cheaper, unless you would spend more than $225 a day eating out.
All-inclusive resorts in Florida: what US rules say about the price you see
US lodging prices have to show the full total up front. Under the FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees (16 CFR Part 464), a business offering short-term lodging must clearly and conspicuously disclose the total price, including mandatory fees, and show it more prominently than other pricing information. Government taxes and charges can be shown separately.
That matters for a fair comparison in Florida and Hawaii, where resort and amenity fees are common. When you compare an all-inclusive rate with a room-only rate, compare the total each site shows, then add taxes if they are listed separately.
Best deals on all-inclusive resorts in Florida in 2026
The best value in 2026 usually comes from timing, member pricing and booking flexibility rather than a single sale:
- Shoulder and off-peak dates. Demand in Florida usually softens in late summer and early fall, outside school holidays.
- Member prices. Booking.com Genius and Priceline VIP show their member pricing once you sign in.
- Refundable rates. A slightly higher refundable rate can be worth it in hurricane season.
- ShopBack before you pay. Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store.
Expedia vs Booking.com for all-inclusive resorts in Florida: price comparison 2026
Neither site is cheaper every time, so compare the same resort, room, dates and meal plan on both. Expedia is strong when you want to bundle flights with a hotel, and Booking.com is strong when you want to compare many properties and room types side by side. According to Expedia Group, Expedia covers flights, vacation rentals, hotels, cars and cruises.
| Check | What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Same rate | Room type, meal plan and cancellation terms | A cheaper rate may be breakfast-only or non-refundable |
| Total price | The final total with fees, plus taxes if listed separately | US lodging prices must show mandatory fees in the total |
| Member pricing | Prices while signed in | Signed-in member pricing can change which site is cheaper |
| Bundle or not | Flight plus hotel as a package vs booked separately | Packages can price lower than separate bookings, or not |
| Last step | Go through ShopBack before you pay | Lowers your effective price on whichever site wins |
Booking.com's free Genius programme shows member discounts on select stays once you are signed in, and the level you reach depends on how many stays you have completed. Check your current level and what it covers in your Booking.com account before you compare.
Expedia, Booking.com and Priceline for all-inclusive resorts in Florida
Most US travelers compare all-inclusive resorts on three or four big sites. Booking.com, Expedia and Priceline are the usual starting points, and Hotels.com, Trip.com, Vrbo and Apple Vacations are also on ShopBack US.
- Booking.com: a wide choice of resorts and room types, with Genius member pricing.
- Expedia: hotels, flights and packages in one place, which suits fly-and-stay trips.
- Priceline: hotels, flights and packages with VIP member pricing. According to Priceline at the time of writing, VIP is free with a Priceline account; you reach Blue after 2 completed trips, Gold after 5 (or as a Priceline Rewards Visa cardholder) and Platinum after 20, and status does not expire. Priceline also lets you add up to five friends or family members to a VIP Family account.
- Vrbo: whole homes, from beach houses to villas, which can beat a resort for larger groups who want a kitchen.
Cheapest month for all-inclusive resorts in Florida: what the data says
We do not publish nightly price data, because resort rates change daily. What official data does show is the weather risk that shapes Florida demand. NOAA's National Hurricane Center says the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, peaks around September 10, and sees most activity between mid-August and mid-October.
That is why late summer and early fall, outside school holidays, usually bring the softest demand and more choice. Winter, spring break and the summer school holidays are usually the busiest periods. If you book in hurricane season, pick a refundable rate or travel insurance that covers storms, and read the resort's own weather policy.
Is a Costa Rica all-inclusive resort worth it?
Often yes for a beach week in Guanacaste, and less so for a trip built around volcanoes, rainforest and wildlife. Visit Costa Rica says Guanacaste has a high level of investment in hotels and is served by Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, which has charter and commercial flights from the United States. Its tourism centers include Papagayo, El Coco, Flamingo, Conchal and Tamarindo.
If your resort is some distance from town, having meals and drinks included can save money and planning. If you plan several day trips inland, you will miss many of the meals you paid for, and a room-only or breakfast rate is usually the better buy.
Costa Rica all-inclusive in 2026: when it costs less
According to Visit Costa Rica, the Pacific region has a well-defined dry season from December to March, with April as a transition month and a rainy season from May to October. November is also a transition month, and July and August often bring a drier spell the country calls the veranillo, or "little summer."
| Period on the Pacific side | What Visit Costa Rica says | What it usually means for price |
|---|---|---|
| December to March | Dry season; March is the driest and hottest month | Peak demand, especially over the holidays |
| April and November | Transition months | Often good value with fewer crowds |
| May to October | Rainy season | Usually the lowest demand |
| July and August | Veranillo, a relative drop in rain | A popular value window for US summer travel |
Expedia vs Apple Vacations for a Costa Rica all-inclusive: price comparison 2026
Compare a package seller like Apple Vacations with Expedia by the total trip price, not the headline nightly rate. Line up the same resort, room type, travel dates, departure airport and what is included, such as transfers and meal plan. Then check the change and cancellation rules on each, because they often differ between packages and hotel-only bookings. Both Apple Vacations and Expedia are on ShopBack US, so go through ShopBack to whichever one wins before you pay.
Are all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii worth it?
Usually only when a rate bundles meals you would really eat at the hotel. Many Hawaii trips involve driving to beaches, hikes and towns, and eating out is part of the appeal, so a room-only or breakfast-included rate often costs less overall. An all-inclusive or meal-plan rate makes more sense for a resort-based trip with young children or when you plan to stay put.
As with Florida, Hawaii hotels are covered by the FTC fee rule, so the total price you see should include mandatory resort fees, with taxes possibly listed separately. Our guide on the best order to book flights and hotels for a Hawaii trip covers the booking sequence.
Cheapest month for all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii in 2026
We do not publish nightly price data for Hawaii. Demand usually peaks over the winter holidays and the US summer school break, and shoulder months such as April to May and September to October usually offer more choice. Search the same resort across a few weeks of dates on two booking sites while signed in, and compare the totals.
How do I find a cheap Puerto Vallarta vacation package?
Price the same flights and resort as a package and as separate bookings, avoid peak winter and holiday weeks if you can, and compare the final checkout total on two or three sites. Then go through ShopBack to the site you chose before you pay.
- Fix your dates and airport. Note two or three date options.
- Price a package on Expedia and Priceline for the same resort and meal plan.
- Price it separately: the flight on one site, the resort on Booking.com or Expedia.
- Compare totals with transfers, fees and taxes included.
- Go through ShopBack to the winning site, then book and pay with a travel card.
Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive in 2026: weather and cheapest months
According to Visit Puerto Vallarta, the city has warm, sunny weather year-round, with average temperatures from the mid-80s in winter to the mid-90s in summer, and a rainy season from June to October. NOAA's National Hurricane Center adds that the eastern Pacific hurricane season runs from May 15 to November 30.
That means the rainy months are usually the lowest-demand period, and winter is usually the busiest. If you book in the rainy season, choose a refundable rate where you can.
Expedia vs Priceline for a Puerto Vallarta all-inclusive: price comparison 2026
Both sell flight and hotel packages, so the fair test is the same resort, room, dates and meal plan on each, compared by final total. Sign in on both before you search, because Priceline shows VIP member pricing to signed-in members. Vrbo is also worth a look if a group wants a villa with a kitchen instead of a resort. Whichever wins, go through ShopBack US to that site before you pay.
How ShopBack lowers what you pay for an all-inclusive trip
Booking a trip online: pick your dates, compare flights and hotels, go through ShopBack to the booking site, then pay with a travel card. Going through ShopBack gets you a cash rebate on the same order, at the same store.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles.
Your effective price is what you pay minus the Cashback that comes back. Check the live rate on the store's ShopBack page.
How to do it:
- Sign up free at ShopBack US or in the app.
- Before you book, open the store's page on ShopBack, such as Booking.com, Expedia or Priceline, and tap through.
- Book and pay on the booking site as normal.
- After your stay, the cash is usually confirmed in your ShopBack account once the booking is validated. Our guide on activating before you buy explains why the booking has to start from ShopBack.
Using member prices and ShopBack on the same booking
Member prices such as Booking.com Genius and Priceline VIP are shown by the booking site itself, and they may still apply to a booking that starts from ShopBack.
How to apply this
- Decide the trip style. Stay-put beach week, or a trip built around day outings.
- Run the break-even test on an all-inclusive rate and a room-only rate.
- Pick shoulder dates where you can, and a refundable rate in storm season.
- Compare totals on Booking.com, Expedia and Priceline while signed in.
- Go through ShopBack before you pay on the booking site.
Key takeaways
- Florida has some all-inclusive resorts, but many sell room-only rates, so run a break-even test before you pay for meals up front.
- US lodging prices must show mandatory fees in the total under the FTC's fee rule (16 CFR Part 464).
- The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, peaking around September 10, according to NOAA.

Frequently asked questions
Are there all-inclusive resorts in Florida, and are they worth it?
Yes, some Florida resorts sell all-inclusive rates, but many Florida stays are sold room-only, with meals and drinks paid as you go. An all-inclusive rate is worth it when its total is lower than the room-only rate plus what you would really spend on food, drinks and activities. Before you book, go through ShopBack US to the booking site so part of what you pay comes back as cash.
Is a Costa Rica all-inclusive resort worth it?
Often yes for a beach week in Guanacaste, which Visit Costa Rica says is served by Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, especially if your resort is away from town and you plan to stay put. It is less useful if you plan day trips to volcanoes or rainforest, because you pay for meals you miss. Visit Costa Rica says the Pacific dry season runs from December to March, so those months are usually in highest demand.
Are all-inclusive resorts in Hawaii worth it?
Usually only when a rate bundles meals you would actually eat at the hotel. Many Hawaii trips are built around driving, beaches and eating out, so a room-only or breakfast-included rate often costs less overall. Compare the full total of each option, and go through ShopBack US before you book the hotel or package.
How do I find a cheap Puerto Vallarta vacation package?
Price the same flights and resort as a package and as separate bookings on two or three sites, travel outside peak winter and holiday weeks if you can, and compare the final checkout total. What is the cheapest month for an all-inclusive resort in Florida?

If you book in those months, choose a refundable rate or travel insurance that covers storms.
Is Expedia or Booking.com cheaper for all-inclusive resorts in Florida?
Neither is cheaper every time. Expedia is strong for bundling flights with a hotel, and Booking.com is strong for comparing many properties and room types. Do US hotel prices have to include resort fees?
Under the FTC's Rule on Unfair or Deceptive Fees (16 CFR Part 464), businesses offering short-term lodging must clearly show the total price, which includes mandatory fees. Government taxes and charges can be shown separately. This applies to US lodging such as Florida and Hawaii hotels, so compare the total, not the nightly rate.
How does ShopBack lower what I pay for an all-inclusive trip?
