Samsung Galaxy S26 vs iPhone 18 vs Google Pixel 11 US 2026: Total Cost of Ownership Across Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile

The short answer

For US flagship smartphone buyers in September 2026, the three anchor options are Samsung Galaxy S26 (shipped 11 March 2026, so 6 months into its cycle and now on standard promotional cadence), iPhone 18 (Pro, Pro Max, and Duo launched September 2026), and Google Pixel 11 (launched August 2026 on Google's typical Pixel cycle). Sticker MSRP is a poor decision anchor; what matters is 36-month total cost of ownership across device financing, plan cost, trade-in credit, and resale value at end of ownership.

The one-line verdict: Google Pixel 11 has the lowest 36-month TCO by a wide margin (roughly $2,100 to $2,400 all-in with Google Fi Flexible plan), largely because Google's pricing competes with unlocked retail and Google Fi bundles Google One AI Premium at 50 percent off. Samsung Galaxy S26 sits in the middle. iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max carry premium sticker pricing offset by the strongest resale value retention (50 to 55 percent at 24 months), which makes the effective 24-month net cost closer to Samsung than the MSRP suggests.

Carrier plan choice is the single largest TCO lever. A $30 per month prepaid MVNO line (Visible, Mint Mobile, US Mobile, Google Fi Flexible) costs $1,080 over 36 months versus $3,600 for a Verizon Unlimited Ultimate line at $100 per month, a $2,520 difference that dwarfs any device sticker price gap. If you don't need international roaming, premium hotspot, or the specific coverage advantages of a big-3 postpaid plan, prepaid on an unlocked device is the winning economic strategy.

The three flagship families in September 2026

Samsung Galaxy S26 (shipped 11 March 2026)

Samsung's Galaxy S26 lineup shipped 11 March 2026 and is now 6 months into its cycle. Sizes and US MSRPs: S26 (6.2-inch) $899, S26 Plus (6.7-inch) $999, S26 Edge (6.7-inch thin-form) $1,099, S26 Ultra (6.9-inch with S Pen) $1,299 (all 256GB base storage). All models use Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 in the US variant, run One UI 8 on Android 16, and include Galaxy AI powered by Google Gemini 2.5.

S26 Ultra remains the flagship, with the S Pen (retained from Note lineage), 200MP main camera with Sony IMX989 sensor, 10x optical telephoto, 5,000 mAh battery, and Corning Gorilla Armor 2. S26 Edge is the new thin-form flagship (5.8mm thickness) targeting design-conscious buyers.

Samsung guarantees 7 years of One UI updates (through 2033) and 7 years of security patches on the S26 line, matching Google's Pixel commitment.

iPhone 18 (launched September 2026)

Apple restructured the iPhone lineup for 2026. The base iPhone 18 non-Pro tier was discontinued (rumor confirmed at September event); the entry point is now iPhone 18 Pro at $999. Sizes: iPhone 18 Pro (6.3-inch) $999, iPhone 18 Pro Max (6.9-inch) $1,199, iPhone 18 Duo (Apple's first folding iPhone, 7.6-inch inner display) $1,999 (all 256GB storage). All models run Apple A19 Pro chip, the current iOS release, and Apple Intelligence + optional ChatGPT-5 integration.

iPhone 18 Pro Max is the flagship: 6.9-inch ProMotion OLED with 120Hz refresh, 48MP + 48MP + 48MP triple camera array with 8x optical telephoto, titanium frame, 4,865 mAh battery, USB-C with USB 3.2 speeds. iPhone 18 Duo is Apple's answer to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Pixel Pro Fold, with a second-generation folding OLED optimized for reduced crease visibility.

Apple provides roughly 5 to 6 years or more of iOS updates on flagship iPhone hardware.

Google Pixel 11 (launched August 2026)

Google's Pixel 11 lineup launched August 2026 on Google's typical Pixel annual cycle. Sizes and US MSRPs: Pixel 11 (6.3-inch) $799, Pixel 11 Pro (6.3-inch) $999, Pixel 11 Pro XL (6.8-inch) $1,199, Pixel 11 Pro Fold (folding form) $1,799 (256GB base). All models use Google Tensor G6 chip fabricated on TSMC 3nm process, run Android 16 with 7 years of OS updates guaranteed (through Android 22 in 2033), and include Gemini Nano on-device AI.

Pixel 11 Pro XL is the flagship: 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with 120Hz refresh, 50MP + 48MP + 48MP triple camera array with 5x optical telephoto (Pro XL only) or 4x on Pro, 5,050 mAh battery, USB-C 3.2. Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the folding form at $1,799, undercutting Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 by $200 to $300 and iPhone 18 Duo by $200.

Google Fi Wireless (Google's owned MVNO on T-Mobile network) offers Pixel 11 buyer bundles including 50 percent off Google One AI Premium ($10 per month for Gemini 2.5 Pro + 2TB storage), free international data in 200+ countries, and 3 months free Google TV service.

36-month total cost of ownership: the honest math

Sticker MSRP tells you almost nothing about what a phone actually costs to own for 3 years. The bigger drivers are carrier plan cost, device financing structure, trade-in credit, and resale value at end of ownership.

The plan cost math

Over 36 months, big-3 carrier postpaid plans cost:

Plan	Monthly	36-month cost
Verizon Unlimited Ultimate (single line)	$100	$3,600
Verizon Unlimited Ultimate (2 lines)	$170	$6,120
T-Mobile Go5G Next (single line)	$100	$3,600
T-Mobile Go5G Next (2 lines)	$170	$6,120
AT&T Unlimited Premium PL (single)	$100	$3,600
AT&T Unlimited Premium PL (2 lines)	$170	$6,120

Over 36 months, prepaid MVNO plans cost:

Plan	Monthly	36-month cost
Visible (Verizon MVNO)	$25	$900
Visible+ (Verizon MVNO premium)	$45	$1,620
Mint Mobile Unlimited (T-Mobile MVNO)	$30	$1,080
US Mobile Warp 5G Unlimited	$44	$1,584
Google Fi Flexible (light user)	$30 to $50	$1,080 to $1,800
Google Fi Unlimited Plus	$65	$2,340
Xfinity Mobile Unlimited (Xfinity customer)	$45	$1,620

The gap: a $30 prepaid line saves $2,520 over 36 months versus $100 Verizon Unlimited Ultimate. That gap is 2 to 3 times the size of any device sticker price difference between S26, iPhone 18 Pro, and Pixel 11.

The device financing math

Big-3 carriers offer 24 to 36-month device installment plans with trade-in credits that reduce effective device cost:

Device	Verizon Unlimited Ultimate trade credit	T-Mobile Go5G Next trade credit	AT&T Unlimited Premium PL trade credit
S26 Ultra ($1,299)	Up to $1,000	Up to $1,000	Up to $1,000
iPhone 18 Pro Max ($1,199)	Up to $1,000	Up to $1,000	Up to $1,000
iPhone 18 Pro ($999)	Up to $800	Up to $800	Up to $800
Pixel 11 Pro XL ($1,199)	Up to $800	Up to $800	Up to $700
Pixel 11 base ($799)	Up to $500	Up to $500	Up to $400

Trade-in credit requires eligible working smartphone in good condition (typically Galaxy S23 Ultra or newer, iPhone 14 Pro or newer, Pixel 8 Pro or newer for maximum credit). Trade credit is applied as monthly bill credits over the 36-month device installment; canceling service before 36 months forfeits remaining credits.

The unlocked plus prepaid path

If you already own an eligible phone worth trading, big-3 postpaid + trade often wins economically. If you don't have trade-in device or don't want to lose flexibility, unlocked device + prepaid plan wins.

Example 36-month TCO comparison, single line, no trade-in:

Path	Device cost	Plan cost	36-month TCO
Verizon Unlimited Ultimate + S26 Ultra (no trade)	$1,299	$3,600	$4,899
T-Mobile Go5G Next + iPhone 18 Pro Max (no trade)	$1,199	$3,600	$4,799
AT&T Unlimited Premium PL + Pixel 11 Pro XL (no trade)	$1,199	$3,600	$4,799
Samsung.com unlocked S26 Ultra + Visible+	$1,299	$1,620	$2,919
Apple Store unlocked iPhone 18 Pro Max + Visible+	$1,199	$1,620	$2,819
Google Store unlocked Pixel 11 Pro XL + Google Fi Flexible	$1,199	$1,080	$2,279
Google Store unlocked Pixel 11 base + Visible	$799	$900	$1,699
Amazon unlocked S26 + Mint Mobile Unlimited	$849 (Amazon typical)	$1,080	$1,929
Best Buy unlocked iPhone 18 Pro + US Mobile Warp	$949 (Best Buy typical)	$1,584	$2,533

The unlocked + prepaid path is $1,900 to $2,600 cheaper over 36 months than big-3 postpaid on the same device. That is the largest single TCO lever in US smartphone economics in 2026.

The resale value math

Smartphones depreciate meaningfully but at different rates. After 24 months of retail purchase:

Device	MSRP	Typical 24-month resale	Net 24-month cost
iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB	$1,199	$660 to $720 (55%)	$479 to $539
iPhone 18 Pro 256GB	$999	$450 to $500 (48%)	$499 to $549
iPhone 18 Duo 256GB	$1,999	$900 to $1,050 (45%)	$949 to $1,099
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB	$1,299	$455 to $520 (38%)	$779 to $844
Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus 256GB	$999	$340 to $400 (34%)	$599 to $659
Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB	$899	$270 to $315 (30%)	$584 to $629
Google Pixel 11 Pro XL 256GB	$1,199	$360 to $420 (32%)	$779 to $839
Google Pixel 11 Pro 256GB	$999	$270 to $320 (28%)	$679 to $729
Google Pixel 11 256GB	$799	$200 to $240 (28%)	$559 to $599

iPhone resale value retention is materially better than Samsung or Google. This is the counterintuitive finding: iPhone 18 Pro Max is the most expensive at sticker but net 24-month cost ($479 to $539 after trade-in) is competitive with Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus and Google Pixel 11 base at their sticker prices.

If you upgrade every 24 months and sell or trade in the outgoing device (Apple Trade-In, Samsung Rewards Trade-in, Google Store trade-in, or third-party services like Swappa, Gazelle, Decluttr, Best Buy Trade-In), iPhone is often the highest-value long-term hardware because of resale strength.

Carrier-by-carrier deep dive

Verizon

Verizon Unlimited Ultimate is the top-tier postpaid plan at $100 per month single line, $170 per month 2 lines (autopay + paperless discount). Includes 60GB premium data, 60GB mobile hotspot, unlimited international texting in 200+ countries, 5 travel days per year of unlimited international data. S26 Ultra trade-in credit up to $1,000 with eligible trade on 36-month device payment plan; iPhone 18 Pro Max trade credit up to $1,000; Pixel 11 Pro XL trade credit up to $800.

Coverage strength: strongest US rural coverage; strongest low-band 5G rural performance; C-band mid-band 5G expanding rapidly. Coverage weakness: mmWave 5G limited to dense urban corridors.

Verizon Visible (owned MVNO on Verizon network): $25 per month Visible standard; $45 per month Visible+ with premium mobile data and international roaming. Best prepaid path for Verizon network coverage without the postpaid premium.

AT&T

AT&T Unlimited Premium PL is the top-tier plan at $100 per month single line, $170 per month 2 lines. Includes 60GB premium data, 60GB hotspot, unlimited international texting, Mexico and Canada data included, 5GB high-speed data in 20+ Latin American and Caribbean countries. S26 Ultra trade credit up to $1,000; iPhone 18 Pro Max up to $1,000; Pixel 11 Pro XL up to $700.

Coverage strength: strong urban and suburban; strong fiber-cellular convergence for AT&T fiber customers (bundling discounts). Coverage weakness: rural West coverage secondary to Verizon.

AT&T Cricket Wireless (owned MVNO on AT&T network): $35 to $60 per month for unlimited plans. Cricket is competitive for AT&T-network prepaid but lacks the depth of Visible or Mint Mobile promotional pricing.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile Go5G Next is the top-tier plan at $100 per month single line, $170 per month 2 lines. Includes 100GB premium data, 50GB hotspot, unlimited in-flight Wi-Fi (T-Mobile-owned airline Wi-Fi partners), 15GB high-speed data in Mexico and Canada, and Apple TV+ + Netflix (Basic) included. S26 Ultra trade credit up to $1,000; iPhone 18 Pro Max up to $1,000; Pixel 11 Pro XL up to $800.

Coverage strength: strongest mid-band 5G nationally (2.5GHz band Ultra Capacity); strongest 5G speeds in urban and suburban. Coverage weakness: rural coverage was historically weak but improved substantially with 600 MHz Extended Range 5G.

T-Mobile Mint Mobile (acquired 2024, still Mint brand): $15 per month first 3 months, $30 per month standard for unlimited plan. Best prepaid path for T-Mobile network coverage.

Bring your own device paths

All three carriers accept unlocked S26, iPhone 18, and Pixel 11 on their prepaid and postpaid plans. Bring your own device switching promotions:

Verizon Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): $540 promotional credit (paid as bill credits over 36 months) when you switch to Verizon and bring an eligible unlocked S26, iPhone 18, or Pixel 11. Requires new line on eligible plan.

T-Mobile Keep and Switch: T-Mobile pays off up to $800 of remaining device installment balance on Verizon or AT&T when you switch and bring an unlocked S26, iPhone 18, or Pixel 11. Requires trade-in of the paid-off device plus new line on Go5G Plus or Go5G Next.

AT&T Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP): $250 to $500 promotional credit (bill credits over 36 months) when you switch to AT&T and bring an eligible unlocked device. Requires new line on Unlimited Extra EL or Premium PL.

These BYOD switching promos are meaningful if you're already leaving another carrier with an unlocked device, but they don't help if you're buying a new phone at the same time.

Best Buy, Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart activation bonuses

Best Buy

Best Buy Wireless Activation: bundles a $50 to $150 Best Buy Gift Card with new Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile line activation on eligible S26, iPhone 18, or Pixel 11 promotions. Costco Wireless

Costco Wireless typically bundles a $100 to $300 Costco Shop Card with new Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile activation on eligible device financing plans. Requires Costco membership ($65 Gold Star / $130 Executive; Executive earns 2 percent back on Costco Wireless activation up to $1,250 annual cap). Costco Wireless also offers Costco-exclusive S26, iPhone 18, and Pixel 11 pricing at select store openings.

Costco Wireless is not currently in the ShopBack merchant network for activation. For cross-shopping, Best Buy Wireless via ShopBack is the alternative path with cashback tracking.

Sam's Club Cell Phones bundles $100 to $200 Sam's Cash with Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile activation on eligible devices. Requires Sam's Club membership ($50 Club / $110 Plus; Plus earns 2 percent Sam's Cash up to $500 annual). Not currently in the ShopBack network for cell phone activation.

Walmart

Walmart Family Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) and Straight Talk (multi-network MVNO) offer prepaid device bundles at Walmart with occasional $50 to $100 Walmart Gift Card promotions. Straight Talk on unlocked S26, iPhone 18, or Pixel 11 is a viable low-cost path. Walmart Cell Phones through ShopBack is eligible for cashback tracking; verify current rate on the ShopBack Walmart page.

Prepaid MVNO deep dive

Visible+: $45 per month unlimited with 50GB premium data (before deprioritization), 5G Ultra Wideband on Verizon, unlimited international messaging, 3GB international premium data. Visible is owned by Verizon (still branded Visible); billing and account management is through the Visible app. Best value for Verizon-network-preferred users.

Mint Mobile

Mint Mobile: $15 per month first 3 months (introductory), $30 per month standard for unlimited talk, text, and data on T-Mobile network with 5GB hotspot. 12-month prepay discount: $180 to $240 for 12 months. US Mobile

US Mobile Warp 5G: $10 per month for 2GB, $20 per month for 8GB, $44 per month for unlimited on Verizon or T-Mobile network (multi-network MVNO). $65 per month Unlimited Premium adds international roaming, 100GB premium hotspot, priority network access. Best for users wanting to pick network per-line (Verizon or T-Mobile) without carrier lock-in.

Google Fi

Google Fi Flexible: $20 per month + $10 per GB (great for light users, capped at $80 per month all-you-can-eat data). Google Fi Simply Unlimited: $50 per month unlimited on T-Mobile network. Google Fi Unlimited Plus: $65 per month unlimited with 100GB premium data, international data in 200+ countries, and Google One AI Premium included ($10 per month value). Google Fi is Google-owned MVNO on T-Mobile network. Best for Pixel 11 buyers (device-specific bundles) and international travelers.

Xfinity Mobile and Spectrum Mobile

Xfinity Mobile (Comcast Xfinity internet customers only): $45 per month unlimited, or $15 per GB pay-as-you-go on Verizon network. Best value if you're already an Xfinity internet subscriber. Spectrum Mobile (Charter Spectrum internet customers only): similar structure at $45 per month unlimited on Verizon network. Both require the cable internet subscription.

Which phone for which US persona?

Verdict for the 3-year keeper who wants lowest total cost: Google Pixel 11 base $799 unlocked from Google Store, Best Buy, or Amazon, paired with Visible $25 per month or Mint Mobile $30 per month. 36-month TCO: $1,699 to $1,879. Best value in the US market in 2026.

Verdict for the annual upgrader who values resale: iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max on any carrier with trade-in every 24 months. iPhone resale value retention (48 to 55 percent at 24 months) makes effective ownership cost competitive despite premium sticker. Apple Trade-In or Best Buy Trade-In gives credit toward next iPhone.

Verdict for the Samsung ecosystem user with Galaxy Watch and Buds: Samsung Galaxy S26 or S26 Ultra unlocked from Samsung.com with Samsung Rewards + Samsung Care+, paired with Visible+ $45 or Google Fi Simply Unlimited $50. Samsung ecosystem integration (Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, Samsung Tab, SmartThings) is the deciding factor over pure economics.

Verdict for the 2-line family with existing trade-in devices: T-Mobile Go5G Next on 2 lines with iPhone 18 Pro Max trade-in for both lines. Trade-in credits ($1,000 per line) + T-Mobile Netflix and Apple TV+ inclusions + Mexico/Canada roaming = strong value for family users.

Verdict for the folding form-factor enthusiast: Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,799 undercuts iPhone 18 Duo ($1,999) and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 ($1,999 to $2,099) with 7-year Android OS support. If Apple ecosystem lock-in matters more than $200, iPhone 18 Duo is the alternative.

Verdict for the international traveler: iPhone 18 Pro Max on T-Mobile Go5G Next (unlimited international texting + 5GB high-speed data in 215+ countries + 15GB Mexico/Canada high-speed) or unlocked Pixel 11 on Google Fi Unlimited Plus (international data in 200+ countries at domestic rates). Both are viable.

Verdict for the extreme budget buyer: Google Pixel 11 base $799 unlocked plus US Mobile Warp 5G $10 per month (2GB) or Visible $25 per month. 36-month TCO under $1,200. Or refurbished iPhone 15 Pro from Apple Certified Refurbished / Amazon Renewed / Best Buy Certified Open-Box under $500 with the same MVNO plan.

Common US 2026 smartphone mistakes to avoid

Anchoring on sticker MSRP. Sticker MSRP tells you almost nothing about 36-month TCO. Plan cost dominates.

Signing up for postpaid unlimited when you use less than 20GB per month. If your actual monthly data usage is under 20GB, a $30 Mint or $25 Visible plan is functionally equivalent to a $100 Verizon Unlimited Ultimate plan for your use case.

Ignoring resale value in the buying decision. iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,199 with $700 resale after 24 months is net $499 cost. Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus at $999 with $370 resale after 24 months is net $629. iPhone is often cheaper in the long run despite higher sticker.

Taking a 36-month device installment then switching carriers. Trade-in credits are typically applied as monthly bill credits over 36 months; canceling service before 36 months forfeits remaining credits. Plan to stay 36 months if you take the trade-in credit.

Forgetting to activate Google Fi Google One AI Premium bundle. Google Fi Pixel 11 buyers get 50 percent off Google One AI Premium ($10 per month value); not activating is leaving $180 to $360 on the table over 36 months.

Buying unlocked from a non-authorized reseller. Only buy unlocked S26, iPhone 18, or Pixel 11 from Samsung.com, Apple Store, Google Store, Best Buy, Amazon (sold and shipped by Amazon), Target, Costco, Sam's Club, or verified authorized resellers. Gray-market imports may lack US warranty, US band support, or eSIM activation eligibility.

Skipping ShopBack before you pay. Whether you buy from Samsung, Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Verizon, or AT&T Wireless, starting the checkout through ShopBack captures the click so part of the cost comes back. Check the live rate on the store's ShopBack page.

What ShopBack does for US smartphone buyers

ShopBack is a US cashback and rewards platform: go through ShopBack before you pay so part of the cost comes back, while carrier trade-in credits, retailer promotions, credit card rewards, and manufacturer loyalty programs still apply. For smartphone purchases, ShopBack tracks Cashback at Samsung, Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Verizon, and AT&T Wireless when you start the checkout through shopback.com or the ShopBack app so the click is captured. Google Store, T-Mobile, and Amazon are not ShopBack US stores at the moment, so compare their prices only.

Cashback stays pending until the retailer confirms the shipment and the return window closes (typically 15 to 60 days for smartphones), after which it confirms in your ShopBack wallet. Retailer promotions, credit card rewards, and manufacturer loyalty (Apple Card 3 percent on Apple Store, Samsung Rewards points, Google One credit) still apply. Verify the current published rate on the ShopBack merchant page before checkout because rates change.

Costco Wireless, Sam's Club Cell Phones, and BJ's Wireless warehouse-club activations are not currently in the ShopBack merchant network for their in-club purchases; their reward mechanic is membership-based (Costco Shop Card, Sam's Cash, BJ's Perks). For cross-shopping through ShopBack, Best Buy is the alternative path.

FAQs

What are the actual 2026 US MSRPs for Samsung Galaxy S26, iPhone 18, and Google Pixel 11?

As of September 2026, US MSRPs are approximately: Samsung Galaxy S26 base $899, S26 Plus $999, S26 Edge $1,099, S26 Ultra $1,299 (all 256GB storage tier). iPhone 18 Pro $999, iPhone 18 Pro Max $1,199, iPhone 18 Duo (Apple's new folding form factor) $1,999 (all 256GB); note Apple removed the non-Pro iPhone 18 base tier for 2026, so the entry point is the Pro at $999. Google Pixel 11 $799, Pixel 11 Pro $999, Pixel 11 Pro XL $1,199, Pixel 11 Pro Fold $1,799 (256GB). Total cost of ownership over 36 months across carrier, plan, and trade-in shifts these numbers meaningfully; sticker MSRP alone is a poor decision anchor. For the unlocked path, go through ShopBack before you pay at Samsung, Apple, or Best Buy, and check the live rate on each store's ShopBack page.

Should I buy Samsung Galaxy S26 on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or unlocked in 2026?

Depends on trade-in device value and plan choice. Verizon Unlimited Ultimate offers up to $1,000 off the S26 Ultra with any working smartphone trade-in on a 36-month device payment plan; that is the deepest S26 trade-in on the carrier side. AT&T Unlimited Premium PL offers up to $1,000 off S26 Ultra with eligible trade and 36-month installment. T-Mobile Go5G Next offers up to $1,000 off with trade-in on the higher tier plan. If you have no trade-in device or hold a valuable prior-gen phone (Galaxy S23 Ultra or newer, iPhone 14 Pro or newer, Pixel 8 Pro or newer), unlocked through Samsung.com, Best Buy, or Amazon frequently costs less over 36 months when paired with a $30 to $45 per month prepaid plan (Visible, Mint Mobile, US Mobile, Google Fi Flexible). On the unlocked path, go through ShopBack before you pay at Samsung or Best Buy; Amazon is not a ShopBack US store at the moment, so compare its price only.

Is iPhone 18 Pro Max cheaper on Verizon or T-Mobile over 36 months?

All three carriers list up to $1,000 off the iPhone 18 Pro Max with an eligible trade-in on their top plans (T-Mobile Go5G Next, Verizon Unlimited Ultimate, AT&T Unlimited Premium PL). At the list prices in this guide, all three top plans cost about $100 per month for one line and $170 for two, so the 36-month plan bill (about $6,120 for two lines) matters far more than the device credit, and network coverage where you live is usually the deciding factor. If you are Costco Executive, ask about the Costco Verizon or T-Mobile activation bonus ($100 to $300 Costco Shop Card). If you buy the device through Verizon, AT&T Wireless, or Best Buy, go through ShopBack before you pay and check the live rate on the store's ShopBack page.

Why is Google Pixel 11 cheaper on total cost of ownership than S26 and iPhone 18?

Two structural reasons. First, Google's Pixel 11 pricing directly competes with unlocked Amazon and Best Buy channels; Pixel 11 base at $799 is $100 below S26 base and $200 below iPhone 18 Pro. Second, Google Fi Wireless (Google's own MVNO on T-Mobile network) runs Pixel 11 buyer discounts unavailable to S26 and iPhone buyers, including 50 percent off Google One AI Premium ($10 per month for Gemini 2.5 Pro + 2TB storage) and free international data in 200+ countries. Google provides 7 years of Android OS updates (through Android 22 in 2033) versus Samsung's 7 years of One UI updates and Apple's typical 5 to 6 years of iOS updates. A 36-month Pixel 11 + Google Fi Flexible plan totals roughly $2,100 to $2,400; equivalent S26 or iPhone 18 Pro over the same period runs $2,800 to $3,400. For Pixel 11, go through ShopBack before you pay at Best Buy and check the live rate on its ShopBack page.

How much can I save with a prepaid MVNO instead of a big-3 carrier plan?

Meaningful savings across all three devices. Visible (Verizon's owned prepaid MVNO on Verizon network) offers unlimited talk, text, and data plans starting $25 per month (Visible) or $45 per month (Visible+ with 50GB premium data + international roaming). Mint Mobile (T-Mobile-owned since 2024, still Mint brand) starts $15 per month unlimited for the first 3 months, $30 per month standard. US Mobile Warp 5G starts $10 per month for 2GB and $44 per month unlimited on Verizon or T-Mobile network. Google Fi Flexible starts $20 per month + $10 per GB (best for low-usage lines). Over 36 months, a $30 per month prepaid line costs $1,080 versus $3,600 for a $100 per month Verizon Unlimited Ultimate line, a $2,520 difference. This is the largest lever in smartphone TCO. Which Best Buy, Costco, Sam's Club, or Walmart activation offers stack with device pricing?

Costco Wireless typically bundles a $100 to $300 Costco Shop Card with new Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile line activation on eligible device financing plans; requires Costco membership ($65 Gold Star / $130 Executive). Sam's Club Cell Phones offers similar Sam's Cash bonuses ($100 to $200) on eligible activations. Best Buy typically bundles a $50 to $150 Best Buy Gift Card with new carrier line activation on select S26, iPhone 18, and Pixel 11 promotions. Walmart Family Mobile and Straight Talk offer prepaid device bundles with $50 to $100 Walmart Gift Card promotions. These stack with carrier device credit but do NOT stack across warehouse clubs. Costco and Sam's Club warehouse-club purchases are not currently in the ShopBack merchant network. For a Best Buy order, go through ShopBack before you pay and check the live rate and terms on the Best Buy ShopBack page.

What is the resale value of Samsung Galaxy S26, iPhone 18, and Google Pixel 11 after 24 months?

Based on historical Samsung, Apple, and Google flagship resale curves, after 24 months of retail purchase: iPhone 18 Pro Max typically retains 50 to 55 percent of MSRP ($660 to $720 on a $1,199 phone); iPhone 18 Pro retains 45 to 50 percent ($450 to $500 on $999). Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra retains 35 to 40 percent ($455 to $520 on $1,299). Google Pixel 11 Pro XL retains 30 to 35 percent ($360 to $420 on $1,199); Pixel 11 base retains 25 to 30 percent ($200 to $240 on $799). iPhone dominates resale value retention because Apple ecosystem lock-in maintains secondary demand. Samsung is second because global Android install base is large. Pixel resale is weakest because Google's carrier and retail distribution is comparatively narrow. Resale factors into true TCO: iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,199 MSRP + $660 to $720 resale = net $479 to $539 24-month cost. Does Apple Intelligence, Galaxy AI, or Gemini Nano change the buying decision in 2026?

AI feature parity across Samsung Galaxy S26 (Galaxy AI powered by Gemini 2.5), iPhone 18 (Apple Intelligence + optional ChatGPT-5 integration), and Pixel 11 (Gemini Nano + Gemini 2.5 Pro cloud tier) is now closer than in 2024 to 2025. Differentiators: Pixel 11 has the strongest on-device AI (Gemini Nano runs locally without cloud roundtrip for summarization, translation, and image editing). iPhone 18 Pro Max has the strongest cloud-connected AI with the tightest privacy layer (Private Cloud Compute). Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has the strongest AI-native creative workflow with S Pen for handwriting, sketch-to-image, and Circle to Search integration. If AI is a primary buying factor, all three are viable in 2026. Google Fi's Google One AI Premium bundle (50 percent off for Pixel 11 buyers) tips the AI economics toward Pixel. What about iPhone 18 Duo, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold? Is the folding form factor worth the premium?

For US 2026 buyers, folding phones remain a premium-tier decision. iPhone 18 Duo (Apple's first folding iPhone, launched September 2026) at $1,999 MSRP undercuts Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 at $1,999 to $2,099 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,799. iPhone 18 Duo has Apple's second-gen inner display with meaningfully reduced crease visibility versus first-gen Samsung Fold. Galaxy Z Fold 7 has the deepest software ecosystem for foldable-optimized apps (Samsung's DeX + Google's Android foldable APIs). Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the value pick at $1,799 with 7-year OS support. Over 36 months, folding phone TCO runs $3,500 to $4,800 depending on plan and trade. Not recommended unless folding form factor is a core use case (multitasking, drawing, media consumption). Standard bar smartphones remain higher value per dollar. Go through ShopBack before you pay at Apple or Samsung, or at Best Buy for all three brands.

Can I earn ShopBack cashback on Samsung Galaxy S26, iPhone 18, or Google Pixel 11 purchases?

Yes, at participating stores. ShopBack tracks Cashback at Samsung, Apple, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Verizon, and AT&T Wireless when you start the checkout through shopback.com or the ShopBack app so the click is captured. Google Store, T-Mobile, and Amazon are not ShopBack US stores at the moment, so compare their prices only. Cashback rates vary by merchant and change; verify the current published rate on the ShopBack merchant page before checkout. Cashback stays pending until the retailer confirms the purchase and return window closes (typically 15 to 60 days), after which it confirms in your ShopBack wallet. Carrier trade-in credit, retailer promotions, credit card rewards, and manufacturer loyalty (Apple Card, Samsung Rewards, Google One credit) still apply as usual. Costco Wireless and Sam's Club Cell Phones warehouse-club activations are not currently in the ShopBack merchant network; their reward mechanic is membership-based (Costco Shop Card, Sam's Cash). Verify all current rates on the ShopBack merchant page before checkout.

How do I use ShopBack to compare the options and lock in cashback?
