Priority Pass vs Amex Centurion vs Capital One Lounges US 2026

If you fly out of a US hub more than three times a year, you have already had this argument with yourself. Do you buy Priority Pass direct at $329 or $469, or do you swallow the annual fee on Amex Platinum for Centurion access, or do you take Capital One Venture X for the new domestic-hub lounges? The three-way comparison shifted meaningfully in 2026: Amex tightened Centurion guest rules on July 8, and Capital One started charging $125 per authorized user for lounge access from February 1. Here is how the math actually sits now for a US traveler.

The verdict

For a US traveler in 2026, all three lounge programs earn a slot, but they win for very different traveler shapes.

Priority Pass direct membership (Chase Priority Pass overview) wins for travelers who do not want to hold a $395 to $695 premium card. The tiers are Standard at $99 per year ($35 per visit for member and guests), Standard Plus at $329 per year (10 included visits, then $35 each), and Prestige at $469 per year (unlimited included visits for the member, $35 per guest). Direct membership is clean, no annual credits to chase, no co-brand credit inquiry, and unlike the Priority Pass Select benefit that comes with a premium card, direct membership is portable across your entire card portfolio. Compare hotels via ShopBack Travel Planner before booking so the trip's non-lounge spend still earns cashback on the same itinerary.

Amex Centurion Lounges via The Platinum Card from American Express win for Amex-anchored travelers on transcon or international routes out of major hubs (ATL, BOS, CLT, DFW, DEN, IAH, JFK, LAX, LGA, MIA, ORD, PHL, PHX, SEA, SFO). Sit-down chef-curated menus, shower suites, dedicated quiet work zones, and premium spirits consistently outperform the average Priority Pass lounge at the same airport.

As of July 8 2026, Amex Platinum cardholders can only bring one guest who is traveling on the same flight (Upgraded Points, "New Amex Centurion Lounge Access Rules Start Today") and can only enter within five hours of departure. Activate cashback via ShopBack before checkout at eligible online partners so the hotel or car rental portion of an Amex-booked trip still stacks a separate cashback layer.

Capital One Lounges via the Venture X ($395/yr) win for US-domestic road warriors whose routing sends them through IAD, DEN, DFW, DAL, or LAS, plus the smaller Capital One Landings at BWI and LGA. The Capital One Lounge design (bright, spacious, healthy food emphasis, kids' zone, cycling stations) is genuinely newer than most of the Centurion or Priority Pass footprint.

However, from February 1 2026, authorized users no longer get automatic lounge access; the primary cardholder pays $125 per authorized user for up to four users (One Mile at a Time, "Big Capital One Venture X Lounge Access Changes Live"; AFAR, "Capital One Is Changing Its Lounge Access Rules"). Start at shopback.com/travel to see live cashback rates on hotels and OTAs before the flight so the total trip pencils better.

Household math cheat sheet: solo travelers fly Amex Platinum for premium ambience and Delta guest access, or Priority Pass Standard Plus if they refuse the $695 fee. Couples on a single card fly Venture X pre-February and continue on Venture X plus one paid authorized user post-February ($395 + $125 = $520 for two-adult lounge access, still less than two Prestige memberships at $938).

Families of four hit a real crossover: paying Venture X plus three $125 authorized-user fees is $770, versus four Standard Plus memberships at $1,316 or three Prestige at $1,407, which reshuffles the family answer toward Venture X. Empty-nester frequent travelers on transcon routes fly Amex Platinum with Amex Centurion Card as an upgrade path if annual travel spend is high enough.

Why the three-way question shifted in 2026

The lounge-access landscape has been on a slow-crowding trajectory since 2018, but 2026 brought two policy shocks that changed the calculator for US travelers who had been quietly stacking access.

Amex Centurion tightened on July 8, 2026. Amex reacted to persistent overcrowding at flagship Centurion Lounges (JFK, LAX, DFW, SFO in particular) with two rule changes (One Mile at a Time, "Amex Centurion Lounges Add Two New Access Restrictions As Of July 2026").

First, Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum, and Delta SkyMiles Reserve (personal and business) cardholders may only bring one guest, and that guest must be traveling on the same flight as the cardholder, verified via boarding pass at the door. Second, cardholders can only enter within five hours of their scheduled departure. Amex Centurion Card holders (the invitation-only tier) are exempt from the same-flight rule. The groups most affected are cardholders who previously used Centurion as a meeting spot with a non-flying partner or as a full-day workspace on connection days.

Capital One rebalanced on February 1, 2026. Capital One made three shifts on the same date. Authorized users no longer receive automatic lounge access; the primary cardholder now designates authorized-user lounge access per user at $125 each, capped at four users. Default for new authorized users is no access. Guest fees at Capital One Lounges and Landings moved to $45 per adult and $25 per child ages 2 to 17, with complimentary guest access unlocked only after $75,000 of annual spend on the card. Priority Pass Select access via Capital One Venture X remains but is now subject to the same authorized-user access model.

Why this reshuffles the answer. Pre-2026, Venture X ($395/yr) offered lounge access to a primary cardholder plus authorized users for free, which made it the runaway best value for couples and families. The Feb 2026 change specifically targets that free-authorized-user vector. Amex Platinum ($695/yr, or $695 with a broader credit stack that offsets to net cost around $200 depending on utilization) tightened on the guest side but did not touch the primary cardholder benefit. Priority Pass direct membership, meanwhile, did not change pricing tiers in 2026 and continues to offer the cleanest per-traveler value for infrequent to moderately frequent flyers.

The net effect: Priority Pass direct membership became relatively more attractive for exactly the household shapes that used to lean Venture X. Amex Centurion stayed strong for solo business travelers. And Venture X remained excellent for the primary cardholder while getting more expensive for households.

Priority Pass: the portable, no-fee-card option

Priority Pass is the oldest and largest of the three programs, run by the Collinson Group, with 1,700+ lounges globally including 40+ in the US spread across every major hub.

The three tiers. Standard at $99/yr charges $35 per visit for the member and any guests. Standard Plus at $329/yr includes 10 free visits per year (member only, guests still $35 each), then $35 per visit above 10. Prestige at $469/yr is unlimited free visits for the member and $35 per guest. Chase publishes a Priority Pass overview page for its cardholders that mirrors the direct tiers (Chase Priority Pass overview).

Break-even math. A traveler visiting exactly 10 lounges a year on Standard would pay $99 + (10 × $35) = $449, which is $20 less than Prestige and roughly $120 more than Standard Plus (which includes those 10). Prestige only wins over Standard Plus at 15+ visits per year. In practice, direct Priority Pass buyers cluster at Standard Plus because 10 visits is roughly the frequency of a US business traveler on quarterly transcon routes, and once you exceed 10, the marginal $35 per visit is still tolerable.

US restaurant caveat. Priority Pass Select membership issued through US-issued credit cards no longer includes restaurant credits at the Priority Pass restaurant partners (removed in 2019), which was one of the most-loved perks. Direct-purchase Priority Pass memberships and Priority Pass memberships issued through non-US cards still include US restaurant credits. This matters at airports like BWI (where Bracket Room used to be a favorite Priority Pass credit) and Atlanta (One Flew South).

Where Priority Pass wins. Global coverage that neither Amex Centurion nor Capital One touches (think regional lounges in Europe, Asia, and Latin America); portability across the traveler's card stack (does not require holding any specific card year to year); zero credit inquiry to obtain; and no annual fee coordinator work (no hotel credits, airline credits, or Uber credits to track).

Where Priority Pass falls short. Individual lounge quality varies more than in the other two programs; overcrowding at popular airports (Alaska Lounge at SEA, Escape Lounge at MSP, Air France at JFK) can trigger membership-holder denial at peak; and the on-airport lounges at big US hubs are often outperformed by Centurion or Capital One Lounges at the same terminal on ambience, food quality, and shower access.

How ShopBack fits. For the non-lounge portion of a trip (hotels, car rentals, OTAs), start at shopback.com/travel so the cashback layer stacks on top of your Priority Pass entry. Amex Centurion Lounges: premium ambience for the Amex-anchored traveler

Amex Centurion Lounges are the premium experience benchmark for US airport lounges. Chef-curated menus (many partnered with named chefs like Cedric Vongerichten at LAX or Ignacio Mattos at JFK), full bar with premium spirits, shower suites at most locations, family rooms at some, dedicated quiet work zones, and interior design meant to feel like a hotel lounge rather than an airport lounge.

Access paths. The most common path is via The Platinum Card from American Express (personal, Business, or Corporate), the Delta SkyMiles Reserve or Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business Amex Card (only when flying Delta same-day), or the Amex Centurion Card (invitation-only, five-figure entry).

The July 8, 2026 changes. Two rules went live: cardholder guests must be traveling on the same flight, verified via boarding pass at check-in; and lounge entry is capped at five hours before scheduled departure (Upgraded Points, "New Amex Centurion Lounge Access Rules Start Today, July 8"). Both rules apply to Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum, Delta SkyMiles Reserve, and Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business Amex Cards. Amex Centurion Card holders remain exempt from the same-flight guest rule. These rules apply at Centurion Lounges in the US, London (LHR), Tokyo (HND), Hong Kong (HKG), Sydney (SYD), and Melbourne (MEL).

Who is affected most. Amex Platinum cardholders who used Centurion Lounges as a meeting spot with a non-flying partner (typical pattern: one spouse works from the lounge while the other is at an airport meeting), families where only one adult is flying and the other wanted to see them off inside the lounge, and cardholders on long day-of-connection layovers who used to enter the lounge in the morning before an evening flight.

Who is not affected. Solo business travelers (the vast majority of Centurion Lounge users), families where all travelers are on the same flight, and Amex Centurion Card holders who are exempt from the same-flight guest rule.

Where Amex Centurion Lounges win. Sit-down chef-curated food that outclasses any Priority Pass lounge at the same airport; shower suites at most flagship locations; premium spirits; larger footprint per location than average Priority Pass; and integration with the Amex Global Lounge Collection which stacks Centurion + Delta Sky Club (Delta same-day only) + Priority Pass Select + Escape Lounges + Plaza Premium + Airspace Lounges for one traveler on one card.

Where Amex Centurion falls short. Only 15 US locations (versus 40+ for Priority Pass); overcrowding at flagship locations at peak; the $695 Platinum annual fee that only pencils if the traveler uses the credit stack (hotel credit, airline credit, Uber credit, Saks credit, streaming credit); and the July 2026 guest changes that reduce the "workspace and meeting" utility for many holders.

How ShopBack fits. For Amex-anchored travelers, book flights via ShopBack partners (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia) to earn cashback on the trip's flights and hotels while the Amex Platinum benefit covers the Centurion Lounge portion. Activate cashback via ShopBack before checkout at eligible online partners so the click tracks and the cashback posts to the ShopBack account separately from any Membership Rewards points earned on the Amex.

Capital One Lounges: fresh domestic hubs, tighter household access

Capital One Lounges are the newest premium lounge experience in the US, having built out from IAD (opened 2021) to DEN, DFW, DAL, LAS, plus smaller Capital One Landings at BWI and LGA. The design language leans bright, spacious, healthy-food-forward, with cycling stations, kids' zones, and grab-and-go options next to sit-down menus.

Access paths. The Capital One Venture X ($395/yr, personal) and Capital One Venture X Business ($395/yr) both offer lounge access. Access includes Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings, and Priority Pass Select via Capital One (which retains the US-issued restaurant-credit exclusion mentioned earlier).

The February 1, 2026 changes. Three shifts hit at once (One Mile at a Time, "Big Capital One Venture X Lounge Access Changes Live"):

1. Authorized users lose automatic access. Venture X authorized users previously received free lounge access, a signature selling point. From Feb 1, the primary cardholder pays $125 per authorized user (up to four) to unlock access. Default is no access; the household opts in per user.
2. Guest fees at Capital One Lounges. Guests now cost $45 per adult and $25 per child ages 2 to 17. Cardholders who spend $75,000 or more on the Venture X in a calendar year unlock complimentary guest access (limited at Capital One Landings).
3. Business card parity. The Venture X Business now has an authorized-user path to lounge access, which is a new development on the business side.

Household math after February 2026. A couple where both adults previously flew free on one Venture X now pays $395 + $125 = $520 for two-adult lounge access, which is still less than two Priority Pass Prestige memberships at $938. A family of four (primary + three authorized users at $125 each) pays $395 + $375 = $770 for lounge access, which still beats four Standard Plus memberships at $1,316 or three Prestige at $1,407. The break-even shifts uncomfortably for households that only lounge together occasionally, but Venture X remains competitive for family-of-four use cases.

Where Capital One Lounges win. Newest facilities (2021 to 2025 openings versus 2013+ for Centurion and older for Priority Pass); genuinely spacious and well-designed; healthy food emphasis is a differentiator for travelers who tire of buffet spreads; kids' zones at IAD, DEN, and DFW are the best in the US lounge category; Priority Pass Select access is bundled, which layers on top for airports where Capital One does not operate a lounge.

Where Capital One Lounges fall short. Small US footprint (five Capital One Lounges plus two Landings); coverage skewed to a specific set of airports that only pencils if the traveler routes through them (a Southeast-based traveler flying ATL and MIA gets no Capital One Lounge value); and the Feb 2026 authorized-user changes materially reduced the free-per-user attractiveness.

Break-even math for four traveler shapes

The single mistake travelers make is comparing annual fees ($469 Prestige vs $695 Platinum vs $395 Venture X) without adjusting for how many people the fee covers and whether the credit stack on Platinum or Venture X actually offsets the fee.

Solo business traveler, 20+ lounge visits per year. Amex Platinum at $695 offset by ~$400 in used credits (hotel, airline, Uber, streaming) = net ~$295, plus Centurion + Priority Pass Select + Delta Sky Club (Delta same-day) + Escape + Airspace. Winner: Amex Platinum for the ambience upgrade and stack. Priority Pass Prestige at $469 is the fallback if Amex credits are not realistic for the traveler's spending pattern.

Couple, moderate travel, mostly same trips. Venture X at $395 + $125 authorized-user fee = $520 for both, covering Capital One Lounges + Priority Pass Select for both travelers. Winner: Venture X (until Feb 2026 the couples answer was even more decisive; after Feb 2026 the answer is still Venture X but the margin narrowed). Priority Pass Prestige for two ($938) is not competitive.

Family of four, US-domestic travel through IAD/DEN/DFW/DAL/LAS. Venture X at $395 + three $125 authorized-user fees = $770 for four travelers, covering Capital One Lounges + Priority Pass Select for all four. Winner: Venture X. Priority Pass Standard Plus × 4 = $1,316. Prestige × 3 = $1,407 (kid can accompany parent on Prestige guest fee). Venture X wins on total cost and on the newer Capital One Lounge facility experience for kids.

Infrequent flyer, 5 or fewer visits per year. Priority Pass Standard at $99 + (5 × $35) = $274. Winner: Priority Pass Standard direct, no card fee, no coordinator work. Venture X only pencils if the Venture X non-lounge benefits (10x on hotels booked via Capital One Travel, TSA PreCheck credit, $300 travel credit) offset the $395 fee independently.

How ShopBack fits into break-even math. For every traveler shape above, the hotel and OTA portion of the trip is where cashback layers on top. Book flights via ShopBack partners (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda) to earn cashback on the trip while the card or membership benefit covers the airport lounge. The ShopBack layer is separate from any credit card rewards program, so it does not compete with Amex Membership Rewards points or Capital One Venture Miles.

Six traveler archetypes, mapped to a lounge answer

Match your travel pattern to the closest archetype.

Traveler archetype	Best lounge answer	Why
Solo business traveler, 20+ visits/yr, Amex-anchored	Amex Platinum + Centurion	Chef-food ambience + stack integration + credits offset
Solo business traveler, 20+ visits/yr, refuses $695 fee	Priority Pass Prestige	Unlimited member visits, no coordinator work
Couple, moderate travel, Capital One-anchored	Venture X + 1 authorized user ($520)	Covers both travelers, Capital One Lounge experience
Family of four, US-domestic, through Capital One hubs	Venture X + 3 authorized users ($770)	Best total cost, kid-friendly facilities
Infrequent flyer, 5 or fewer visits/yr	Priority Pass Standard ($99 + $35/visit)	Zero card commitment, no wasted fee
International flyer, Europe/Asia routes	Priority Pass Standard Plus or Prestige	Global 1,700+ coverage that Centurion and Capital One do not match

The single biggest mistake travelers make is doubling up on lounge programs. Two premium annual fees rarely pay back the second one for lounge access alone; pick the primary lounge program that matches your dominant route, then use Priority Pass Select (bundled with either Amex Platinum or Venture X) as the coverage extender for gaps.

---

The 90-day lounge audit before the fee decision

Before committing to any card or direct membership, run a 90-day audit of your own travel pattern.

1. Pull three months of flight bookings from your calendar or credit card statements.
2. Note the departure airport for each flight, plus connection airports.
3. Look up which of the three programs has a lounge at each airport (Priority Pass at nearly all US hubs; Amex Centurion at 15 major hubs; Capital One at IAD, DEN, DFW, DAL, LAS).
4. Count how many flights would give you a lounge you would actually use (rule out gate-adjacent lounges that require a 20-minute walk out of your terminal for a 45-minute connection).
5. Multiply the count by four to annualise, then apply the tier math above.

Travelers routinely overestimate their lounge visit frequency in self-report by 30 to 50% versus statement data, largely because the memorable trips (long delays, transcon redeyes) are the ones the brain overweights.

Where ShopBack fits in the audit. During the 90-day audit window, route any test hotel and OTA bookings through ShopBack Travel Planner to build a small cashback balance while you decide on the lounge program. Compare cashback on shopback.com before your next travel booking so the audit itself captures a baseline of trip-side cashback in addition to lounge-access decision data.

When to skip all three

Not every US traveler should hold a lounge program. Skip Priority Pass, Amex Platinum, and Capital One Venture X if any of the following applies:

• You fly fewer than four times a year. At that cadence, per-visit day passes ($30 to $60 at Escape Lounges, Delta Sky Club walk-up, Alaska Lounge day passes) beat annual commitments.
• You always fly first or business. Airline-lounge access is bundled with your ticket, so the credit-card lounge stack is redundant.
• You live in an airport with no premium lounges. Some smaller US airports (MSN, TUS, ELP) simply do not have Priority Pass, Centurion, or Capital One coverage. The lounge answer is moot.
• You value overhead-bin space more than lounge food. For travelers whose priority is boarding order and elite status recognition, an airline co-brand card (Amex Delta Platinum, Chase United Explorer, Amex Delta Reserve, Barclays AA Aviator) delivers more per dollar than a lounge-focused card.
• You already have unlimited elite lounge access via status. Delta Diamond, United Global Services, and American Executive Platinum status holders often already have the lounge coverage they need.

Frequently asked questions

Which lounge access program is best for US travelers in 2026?

It depends on your card stack and route. Priority Pass direct membership wins for travelers who do not want a $395 to $695 premium card (Chase Priority Pass overview). Amex Centurion via Amex Platinum wins for Amex-anchored transcon or international travelers, though the July 8 2026 same-flight guest rule tightened. Capital One Lounges via Venture X win for US-domestic travelers routing through IAD, DEN, DFW, DAL, or LAS, though the Feb 1 2026 $125-per-authorized-user fee reshaped the household math.

How much does a direct Priority Pass membership cost in 2026?

Standard $99/yr ($35 per visit for member and guests), Standard Plus $329/yr (10 included visits then $35 each), Prestige $469/yr (unlimited included visits for member, $35 per guest), per the Chase-hosted Priority Pass tier page. Standard suits fewer than four visits per year; Standard Plus suits 5 to 12 visits; Prestige suits 15+.

What changed with Amex Centurion Lounge guest access on July 8 2026?

From July 8 2026, Amex Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum, Delta SkyMiles Reserve, and Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business cardholders can only bring guests who are traveling on the same flight (One Mile at a Time, Amex Centurion access restrictions). Same-flight verification happens at the door via boarding pass. A five-hour pre-departure layover cap also went into effect. Amex Centurion Card holders remain exempt from the same-flight guest rule.

When did Capital One start charging $125 per authorized user for lounge access?

February 1, 2026. Authorized users on Capital One Venture X (personal and business) no longer receive automatic lounge access; the primary cardholder pays $125 per authorized user, up to four users, to unlock lounge access across Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings, and Priority Pass Select (AFAR, Capital One lounge access changes). Default for new authorized users is no access. Guest fees at Capital One Lounges also moved to $45 per adult and $25 per child ages 2 to 17.

Where does ShopBack fit into travel bookings around lounge access?

Compare hotels via ShopBack Travel Planner before booking to layer cashback on the hotel or OTA portion of the trip while the card benefit covers the airport lounge portion. Start at ShopBack's Booking.com page to see live cashback rates across major OTAs including Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, and Hotels.com. Lounge access itself is a card or membership benefit rather than a cashback event, but the trip's hotel and rental car spend is where ShopBack cashback stacks.

Compare US lounge footprint across the three programs.

Priority Pass has 40+ US locations and 1,700+ globally. Amex Centurion has 15 US locations (ATL, BOS, CLT, DFW, DEN, IAH, JFK, LAX, LGA, MIA, ORD, PHL, PHX, SEA, SFO) plus international outposts. Capital One has five Capital One Lounges (IAD, DEN, DFW, DAL, LAS) and two Capital One Landings (BWI, LGA).

Should a family of four hold Capital One Venture X for lounge access after Feb 2026?

For families routing through Capital One hubs, yes. The Feb 2026 change makes the family math harder ($395 + three $125 authorized-user fees = $770 for lounge access), but it still beats four Priority Pass Standard Plus memberships ($1,316) or three Prestige memberships ($1,407). Families that only route through non-Capital One airports should compare against Priority Pass direct instead.

Do Priority Pass, Amex Centurion, and Capital One access stack on one trip?

Yes, if the traveler holds both Amex Platinum and Venture X. An Amex Platinum cardholder who also holds a Capital One Venture X gets Amex Centurion Lounges, Delta Sky Clubs on same-day Delta metal, Priority Pass Select from both cards, Capital One Lounges, and Escape Lounges. Redundant memberships rarely pay back the second annual fee for lounge access alone; the stack usually pencils only if both cards' non-lounge benefits are needed.

Can Amex Centurion Card holders still bring extra guests after July 8 2026?

Yes. Amex Centurion Card holders remain exempt from the July 8 2026 same-flight guest rule. The Centurion Card (invitation-only, high entry fee) preserves the original guest-inviting flexibility. Only Amex Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum, and Delta SkyMiles Reserve cardholders are subject to the same-flight guest restriction.

Between Amex Platinum credits and Venture X credits, which offsets the annual fee better in 2026?

It depends on the traveler's actual spending pattern. Amex Platinum has a broader but more fragmented credit stack (hotel, airline, Uber, streaming, Saks, Walmart+, digital entertainment) that only pencils if the traveler uses most of them. Venture X has a simpler credit stack ($300 Capital One Travel credit + 10,000 anniversary bonus miles) that most cardholders use in full. For travelers who dislike coordinator work, Venture X credits are stickier; for travelers who already shop at Saks or use Uber weekly, Amex Platinum credits offset further.

Which lounge network has the widest coverage in Sun Belt airports (PHX, AUS, DAL) in 2026?

Priority Pass has the widest Sun Belt footprint in 2026, with lounges at PHX, AUS, DAL, DFW, IAH, ATL, and MSY covering both terminal-airline and third-party lounges. Amex Centurion has a strong Sun Belt presence at PHX, DFW, ATL, and MIA but no AUS or DAL location. Capital One's Sun Belt coverage centres on DFW and DAL only. For Sun Belt-heavy travelers, Priority Pass Standard Plus at $329 per year usually beats stacking premium annual fees. Route the trip's hotel and rental car through the ShopBack browser extension at Booking.com, Expedia, or Priceline so cashback tracks within 48 hours on the booking side while the card benefit covers the lounge.

---

Key takeaways

• Priority Pass direct membership at $99/$329/$469 wins for infrequent flyers, no-fee-card holders, and international routes; Standard Plus is the sweet spot for 5 to 12 visits per year.
• Amex Centurion Lounges via Amex Platinum win for solo Amex-anchored travelers on transcon or international routes; the July 8 2026 same-flight guest rule cut the meeting-spot use case.
• Capital One Lounges via Venture X win for US-domestic travelers on IAD, DEN, DFW, DAL, or LAS routes; the Feb 1 2026 $125-per-authorized-user fee reshuffled family and couple math.
• Amex Centurion Card holders are exempt from the July 2026 same-flight guest restriction; Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum, and Delta Reserve cardholders are not.
• Household math after Feb 2026: Venture X + one authorized user ($520) still beats two Priority Pass Prestige ($938); Venture X + three authorized users ($770) still beats four Standard Plus ($1,316).
• Priority Pass Select via US-issued cards has excluded restaurant credits since 2019, which cuts value at airports like BWI and ATL where restaurant credits were the marquee perk.
• Priority Pass has 40+ US lounges plus 1,700+ globally; Amex Centurion has 15 US locations; Capital One has 5 lounges plus 2 Landings.
• Run a 90-day lounge audit before signing up: travelers overestimate visit frequency by 30 to 50%.
• Skip a lounge program entirely if you fly fewer than four times a year, always fly first or business, or already hold elite airline status with unlimited lounge access.
• Route the trip's hotel and OTA spend through ShopBack Travel Planner to stack cashback on top of whichever lounge program covers the airport.

💡 Compare travel booking cashback on Booking.com through ShopBack The hotel and OTA layer of every lounge-enabled trip, earning cashback on top of the card benefit.
